REVIEW : Motorfingers / Goldfish Motel (2016)

After the very good EP, that I reviewed recently, from Badmotorfingers, next I have the promo of a band that's called Motorfingers. Motorfingers is an edgy heavy rock/metal band that nowadays is releasing it's newest effort with the title "Goldfish Motel".

So, this Italian band after two mini-albums (EP's) and a 9-track record (Black Mirror) is now ready for its new step. After the first spin of Motorfingers' brand new opus, I have to say that I like it. The most difficult part is to categorize this band. I mean Motorfingers's sound is a mix of metal, hard rock 'edgy' rock and alternative with powerful and aggressive vocals and heavy guitars.

"Walk On Your Face" is a heavy, in-your-face, track that features powerful vocals, some sserious and heavy riffing and a loud chorus line. The straight forward rocker "Behind This Fire" is a song that impressed me the most here. Modern, melodic and heavy with a nice melody "Behind This Fire" sounds like the absolute highlight out of this record. "Day Of Dawn" includes a nice groove in it and again some excellent riffing while in "Burning Down" the alternative elements are more obvious. In the acoustic-driven mid-tempo "Nothing But A Man", the band shows its emotional side and in "Disaster" it delivers an excellent 'punchy' rocker.

All in all, this is a solid release all the way. Motorfingers are delivering a rock album that has it all; heavy riffs and solos, powerful vocals, melodies, power and some serious attitude. Well done!
