REVIEW : HUNGRYHEART / “Dirty Italian Job” (2015)

Hungryheart is an Italian Hard Rock band that made a big impact to the Melodic Hard Rock world with its two previous albums. "HungryHeart" and "One Ticket To Paradise" are both great samples of pure late 80's, early 90's, hard rock sound with a fresh approach and most of all with strong songs.

Yes, this band knows how to deliver a good record with strong arrangements, catchy hooks and choruses, a crunchy guitar sound and powerful performances. These guys here are very experienced and extremely talented musicians and shared the stage, played and collaborated with big names of this genre such as House of Lords, Mitch Malloy, Bobby Kymball, Vinny Appice, Issa, Kelly Keeling and many others. The experience earned led to a peak of artistry and song writing perfectly expressed in this new album where hard rock roots melt naturally into a great diversity of musical influences.

"Dirty Italian Job" was produced by guitarist Mario Percudani (Mitch Malloy, Ted Poley, Axe, Lionville) and features Josh Zighetti on vocals, Paolo Botteschi on drums and Stefano "Skool" Scola on bass. It has been recorded and mixed at Tanzan Music Studio (Italy) by Mario PercudaniDaniele Mandelli and mastered by senior engineer Brad Vance (Foreigner, Mr.Big, Ritchie Blackmore) at Red Mastering Studio (California, USA).

The new album kicks-off with the up-tempo rocker "There Is A Reason For Everything". This is a very 80's track with a big groove in it, Zighetti's smooth vocals and Mario's superb guitar lines. "Back To The Real Life" sounds like it jumped out from Bon Jovi's "New Jersey" album while in "Nothing But You" the band delivers a great ballad. In "Shoreline", the first single, we have a killer melodic rock anthem. With "Bad Love"(Eric Clapton) the boys take an already great and classic rock track, they put their personal identity, heart and soul and at they make it better!!! Brilliant stuff!! The bluesier "Second Hand Love", the rockier "Right Now" and the beautiful mid-tempo "You Can Run" are yet highlights from the new record.

Yes, Hungryheart did it again; they are back with album number three and it's probably their most mature record to date. As I already mentioned above, these Italians know how to deliver a strong effort. No filler in sight here, just pure hard rock/AOR stuff played with heart and soul that will please each and every single fan of this scene but will however win even more rockers. Highly recommended!
