REVIEW : HOUSE OF LORDS / Indestructible (2015)

House Of Lords is back with its tenth official release which is entitled "Indestructible". "The name Indestructible was chosen because we all felt that we have been through a lot in our long careers and what better way to say "Hey, I'm still Here" than by giving the cd a BOLD title," says singer James Christian. Besides being HOUSE OF LORDS' tenth studio album, the new record sees the new line-up celebrating their first ten years together.

It is amazing to work with BJ, Chris and Jimi” tells James Christian, “they are all very aware of what HOUSE OF LORDS represents and they are committed to making records that complement the history of the band".

The new opus kicks-off in a such a heavy way with the really breathtaking tune of "Go To Hell"!! This track includes every little thing that a die-hard fan wants from House Of Lords; power, melody, soaring vocals, heavy riffs and melodic solos and a chorus line to die for! Excellent song and probably one of the best that the 'new' line-up of House Of Lords ever recorded!

Next, "Indestructible" is a really nice and groovier rocker while "Pillar Of Salt" is yet the most interesting tune here! It's a track that brings back memories from the 'difficult' "Power And The Myth" album with its lovely melody and its beautiful progressive 'touches'. "100mph", "Die To Tell" and "Ain't Suicidal" are all three very good and in-your-face rockers that all includes solid arrangements, powerful performances and very good guitar work(just listen to the solo in 'Ain't Suicidal") by this amazing guitarist, Jimi Bell.

"Call My Bluff" is simply amazing; a mid-tempo rocker with a such beautiful harmony and melody, this tune seems like a leftover from the "World Upside Down" album. For sure a highlight! House Of Lords is, also, a band that is well-known for the great ballads; "We Will Always Be One" is without any doubt a huge power ballad in the vain of the band's earlier works. Another killer track out of the new record is the up-tempo and very commercial "Another Dawn".

Overall, this is another solid record by this legendary band! House Of Lords continue to deliver well-crafted, well-played and powerful hard rock with big melodies, great arrangements and with fantastic performances. "Indestructible" is one of the best albums that this band has ever recorded!
